Tom Boonen placed 6th in a bunch sprint finish at Stage 3 of Tour of Oman. Gert Steegmans was another high finisher for Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team. He placed 12th. Marcel Kittel (Project 1t4i) won, with Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) taking 2nd and Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ-Bigmat) placing 3rd.
The peloton chased down a four man breakaway with 5km to go.
