Today the Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team was presented to the press at the Videohouse Studios in Belgium. More than 120 journalists from all over Europe and the United States attended the presentation.

It was an authentic talk show with television timing that was masterfully managed by the very entertaining host Mark Uytterhoeven, one of the most well known Belgian presenters, with skilful direction by Woestijnvis, one of the most important and succesful production companies in Belgium.

Team supporters were also able to watch the show via live streaming on our website. The team’s athletes were the real stars of the show, mixing technical content with amusing vignettes and grand entrances, like when a Harley Davidson was driven onto the set for
Sylvain Chavanel.

Champions from the team followed one another for their turn in the studio’s guest seats. Iljo Keisse could not attend, since he’s busy racing in the Six Days of Bremen; nor could Levi Leipheimer, who nonetheless sent in a video appearance to say hello from the United States. The live Skype connection with Australia was also fun and greatly appreciated. From the other side of the world Gert Steegmans answered questions asked by Mark Uytterhoeven and presented his team mates from their adventure “Down Under”.

“It was a different style of presentation, really fun and ironic", said Tom Boonen. “This is a new trend in the world of cycling. A real show with television timing. We had a lot of fun and I think the technical content was also very interesting. I hope our fans who followed the live stream presentation on our new website also had a good time. Now it’s time to get back to racing; we can’t wait!”
