Our riders lead four classifications at the five-day race.

In Slovakia, a country which will be now forever linked to Quick-Step Floors' history, the team managed to put five riders – Bob Jungels, Yves Lampaert, Julian Alaphilippe, Fabio Jakobsen and Niki Terpstra – in the top 10 on the 1.6km prologue in Poprad, a performance which at the end of the day saw the Liège–Bastogne–Liège champion don the yellow jersey and the squad move to the top of the team classification.

Jungels, who notched up his fourth win of the season, shared his thoughts on this 62nd victory of the team in 2018 and its significance: "I had a strong Tour of Britain last week and came out of it with good sensations and a strong shape, and having confirmed that here makes me happy. Bringing a victory that helped Quick-Step Floors break a four-year-old record is a bonus and I'm glad I could do this for a team that has always supported and helped me become a better rider. It's also important that we enjoyed such a great start to this race, which only motivates us before Thursday's stage in the mountains, where we will try to keep the overall lead."

Now in his third season with Quick-Step Floors, the multiple Luxembourg Champion holds also the points jersey, which he'll lend to Dwars door Vlaanderen and Belgian Championships winner Yves Lampaert for stage 1, while neo-pro Fabio Jakobsen is the best young rider of the Tour de Slovaquie, having posted his tenth top 10 finish of the season.
