Two victories in the opening night of the Six Days of Gent.

Iljo Keisse and Mark Cavendish teamed up once again for the prestigious event, which returned after a one-year hiatus with its 80th edition, one that got underway Tuesday evening. Riding as TheWolfpack powered by Maes0.0%, the experienced duo got off to a solid start, podiuming in the first appointments of the evening, the spectacular points races.

The first success of the week for the two – who between them have triumphed at the Six Days of Gent a total of eight times – was obtained about one hour later, when the “King of the Kuipke” Keisse powered to a clear victory in the second derny race. But the cherry on the cake came in the final Madison, where Cavendish and Keisse rode a flawless race and gave absolutely no chance to their opponents, sailing to a well-deserved win.

This allowed TheWolfpack powered by Maes0.0% team to make significant inroads in the general classification and conclude the night in fourth place, just one lap behind the leaders.
