De 17e editie van de koers vindt plaats tussen 5 en 12 september.

Geen andere ploeg is zo succesvol geweest als Deceuninck – Quick-Step in de Tour of Britain sinds de terugkeer op de kalender in 2004. De ploeg won 22 ritten met 15 verschillende renners. Ook werd tweemaal de eindzege binnen gehaald. Julian Alaphilippe was in 2018 de laatste eindwinnaar namens de ploeg.

De Franse wereldkampioen komt ook dit jaar aan het verjaar. Hij krijgt gezelschap van Mark Cavendish, die op zoek gaat naar zijn 11e ritzege in deze ronde. Davide Ballerini, Tim Declercq, Mikkel Honoré en Yves Lampaert maken de ploeg compleet.

“We starten met een sterke ploeg. Julian, Mikkel en Davide hebben hun goede vorm getoond in Plouay. Mark komt hier met veel motivatie aan de start na een sterke Tour. Yves was goed in de Deutschland Tour afgelopen week en van Tim weet iedereen waartoe hij in staat is. Het parcours is lastig met veel klimwerk en smalle wegen. Het wordt dus lastig om te controleren”, aldus Deceuninck – Quick-Step sportdirecteur Geert Van Bondt.
