Bob Jungels and Petr Vakoč put pressure on the pack in the final kilometers of stage two.
Tour de Pologne continued on Sunday with another short stage, this time between Tarnowskie Gory and Katowice, a regular feature in the race. Just like yesterday, four men went into the break and stayed away until the finishing circuit, when they were brought back by the furious peloton.
Things didn't calm down, as several riders tried to thwart down the sprinters' plans. Giro d'Italia white jersey Bob Jungels put in a strong acceleration and was quickly joined by Daniel Oss (BMC), but despite their combined efforts the duo were reabsorbed with six kilometers remaining.
A former stage winner at the Tour de Pologne, Petr Vakoč was next to attack, around two kilometers from the finish, but despite going all-out he too was caught and the day concluded with Sacha Modolo's (UAE Team Emirates) win.
After two stages for the sprinters, the general classification is very likely to witness an important shake-up, as on Monday the peloton will take on four classified climbs before an uphill finish in Szczyrk, which returns to the race after a 43-year hiatus.
