Lounes Verschaeve

Biography of Lounes

Born in 1995, Lounes Verschaeve is the benjamin of the mechanics team. He became a bike mechanic two years ago at EFC-LR Vulsteke, the U23 team that also has Mauri Vansevenant on their team roster until mid 2020, but Deceuninck – Quick-Step is his first full-time employer in cycling.

In his younger years, the Koolskamp resident was a promising rider, competing with several of today’s distinguished professional riders, including Mathieu van der Poel, Wout Van Aert and Deceuninck – Quick-Step colleagues Bert Van Lerberghe and Fabio Jakobsen.

Lounes views bicycles as a true passion. In his spare time, he enjoys going for a bike ride as well as “the little things in life”, like spending time with his partner and friends. Every year he looks forward to the spring classics, while as a cyclist he particularly liked riding in echelons. He considers being part of The Wolfpack a great honour. “I’m very happy with the opportunity I was given to work here”, he says. “We are a family. Only when you become part of it, you realize what The Wolfpack really is.”
